Meshtastic channel links and QR codes
A Meshtastic channel is a name and an encryption key, called the PSK. Nodes on the same channel, using the same LoRa settings, can read each other’s messages. This tool puts your channels, and optionally your radio settings, into one channel link and QR code that the Meshtastic app can scan.
Use it to
- Set up a private channel for a group, a family or an event.
- Put several nodes on the same region, modem preset and frequency slot.
- Give someone an extra channel without touching their radio settings.
How it works
- Add up to 8 channels. The first one is the primary channel.
- Replace sets the receiving node’s channels and applies the LoRa settings included in the link. Add only adds channels.
- The other person scans the QR code in the Meshtastic app, or opens the link on a phone that has the app.
Good to know
- Anyone with a link that holds a private key can read that channel. Share it like a password.
- A channel using the default key,
AQ==, isn’t private, whatever its name. - Choose Experimental 2.8.x only if every node that will scan the link runs firmware 2.8.
